Cleanskin Sauvignon Blanc 2017
Adelaide Hills, Australia 11.5% abv
£10.99 (Rrp £13.99)
When it comes to mouthwatering Aussie Sauvignon, few regions
compare to the Adelaide Hills. They are home to Australia's
"winemaking royalty". You'll notice it's a 'cleanskin' - in other
words the estate did not put their own label on the bottle. Why?
Because they sold a few cases to our Buyer Dan at well below the
going rate (to shift stock) and they wouldn't want regular
customers finding out. So bag yourself a bargain.
Roche Lacour 2016
Crémant de Limoux, France 12.5% abv
A great value alternative to Champagne, this fantastic fizz was
an instant hit upon its release a quarter of a century ago. It is
made in Limoux using Champagne's méthode traditionnelle for fine
bubbles, zippy lemon flavours and an elegant finish.
Farnese Pecorino 2016
Terre di Chieti, Italy 12.5% abv
A ravishing, crisp, fruity white from Farnese, who've won more
than 80 top accolades in the last 7 years. It's crafted from
Pecorino, one of the top varieties of Abruzzo, and, as you'll taste
in this white, it makes wine with gorgeous apricot fruit flavours.
The perfect party wine, this refreshing drop is also delicious with
white fish, chicken or seafood.
Yarrunga Field Special Reserve
New South Wales, Australia 11.5% abv
Terrific value for money and a great all rounder too. Creamy,
ripe and medium bodied with a lovely, clean, fresh finish. Serve
chilled on its own or with spicy stir-fry or seafood.
Lobo e Falcão Branco 2017
Tejo, Portugal, 13% abv
Our absolute favourite Portuguese wine! It is a blend of
native grapes Fernão Pires, Alvarinho and Muscat, which thrive in
the sandy soils and ripen to perfection under the Portuguese sun.
You'll love its aromas of juicy, ripe peach and orange blossom,
followed by rich, bright flavours of stone fruit, spice and grapey
Waitui Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2017
Marlborough, New Zealand 12.5% abv
A ravishing, new release Kiwi Sauvignon - guaranteed to be 100%
refreshing. It's packed with floral peach fruit and zesty citrus
flavour, as you'd expect from a quality vineyard in New Zealand's
Redheads R'dotto Royale 2017
Adelaide, Australia 14.5% abv
This gorgeous, rich red is named after Venice's 18th century
gambling house, R'dotto. This is RedHeads' Five Card Trick -
Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Montepulciano and Sagrantino - and
we certainly think the gamble has paid off. The grapes were sourced
from two of RedHeads' most meticulous and 'out there' growers. With
its bright fruit, this is a tasty match for spaghetti
Tuscany, Italy 13.5% abv
Big Brother of our popular Saracosa, Governo is Suave and
seductive. It is a full rounded blend of Sangiovese and Merlot,
aged for four months in small oak barrels. What's more, a portion
of grapes were left to dry for 20 days, adding terrific
concentration to the wine. Decant and serve with a local favourite
- rabbit casserole, other game or slow-cooked beef.
Rocksand Shiraz 2015 2015
Setubal Peninsula, Portugal 14.5% abv
A firm favourite with Rebellion customers, this gorgeously
smooth Shiraz is from coastal vineyards near Lisbon. Mostly Shiraz
along with a splash of local variety Alicante, the wine is matured
in expensive oak barrels to add a gorgeous, spicy, vanilla lift to
the blueberry, blackberry and peppery fruit. A fine treat to serve
with spicy chorizo sausages, a hearty stew or the Sunday roast.
Sicily 13.5% abv
A Super Tuscan style red from Sicily combining cherry scented
Sangiovese with international superstars Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon
and Merlot, all aged in barrel. Saserello is a wonderfully rich,
complex and elegant red with plenty of upfront fruit and a long
finish. Enjoy with a Sunday roast, or a spicy pork, bean and
Acaballo Shiraz Carmenère 2017
Rapel Valley, Chile 12.5% abv
Luis Felipe Edwards is one of Chile's finest family estates,
four-time winner of 'Winery of the Year'. It's renowned for its
innovation in the vineyard and winery. This high grown Shiraz
Carmenère has luscious, ripe, spicy fruit and freshness too. Decant
and serve with grilled red meats or rich pasta dishes.
The Waxed Bat Reserve 2016
Mendoza, Argentina 13.5% abv
Winner of the Best in Show Trophy, Waxed Bat Reserve is from
remarkable winemaker Opi Sadler. Equal parts of Cabernet and Malbec
from the best, highest altitude vineyards and the wine aged in
barrel for a year, this red is richer, smoother and deeper than
ever. It's a sumptuous mouthfilling red, smooth enough to drink
solo but at its very best with garlic studded roast lamb, a juicy
steak or a warming casserole. Decant early if you can.
