PS Pétillant Rosé
Vin de France 11% abv
Lightly sparkling, very refreshing, and at a quarter of the
price of rosé Champagne, it's good value too. It means you don't
need a celebration to crack open a bottle. Simply chill well. PS
Pétillant is mouthwatering as an apéritif, also great with king
prawns or salade Niçoise, or poured over strawberries with a twist
of black pepper.
Domaine Bellevue 2018
Touraine, France 13.5% abv
From a small family estate in the heart of the Loire region,
this Sauvignon Blanc is deliciously concentrated with aromas of
creamy lemon, grapefruit and floral hints. It's a very versatile
wine and goes well wine most white meat dishes. It's lovely with
goat's cheese and a fresh baguette and gorgeous on its own
Marlborough, New Zealand 9.5% abv
Dr John Forrest's 9.5% Vol Stonewall Sauvignon Blanc was
ground-breaking two years back and still leads the field. He found
a way to ripen grapes while keeping natural sugar levels (and so
alcohol) lower. It's crisp with vibrant gooseberry,
elderflower and stony citrus flavours. A perfect partner to
seafood, exotic salads or goat's cheese.
Pays d'Oc, France 13% abv
It's rare to see a French Merlot of this calibre at this price.
This is partly explained by its provenance, the Languedoc
Roussillon, which also provides much of France's best value wine.
With dark cassis and wild herb flavours, this silken gem is a smart
alternative to costlier Saint Emilion. Enjoy its fine, dark cherry
and wild herb character with lamb chops, duck or a vegetable
The Four Marx Brothers 2016
California, USA 15% abv
A velvety, easy drinking California Merlot. It
hails from prime-sited Central Coast vineyards and the fantastic
2016 vintage. Light oak aging adds gentle spice notes to the ripe,
red-fruit flavours and silky-smooth tannins. Like the Marx
Brothers, this food friendly Merlot is easy to enjoy. Pair it with
your favourite poultry dish or alongside heartier meats like pork
tenderloin or lamb chops. Vegetarians can enjoy it with mushroom
burgers, butternut squash ravioli, and more. Of course, this is
also smooth enough to sip all on its own.
