JOB DESCRIPTION
Assisting the Department Manager in day-to-day operations and
running of shifts in a new and growing arm of a renowned local
brewery. The job requires the maintenance and execution of the high
standards of excellent customer service and attention to detail in
all areas. The successful candidate will work with other
departments in the business to troubleshoot issues and maintain a
consistent and high level of operations in the on-site Tap Yard.
Further key roles include.
- Opening and closing of the Tap Yard and site.
- Running shifts during service times and delegating and
overseeing various tasks.
- Understanding and maintaining quality of all products served,
specifically beer.
Experience in supervisory roles preferred,
experience in hospitality preferred but not essential. Competitive
salary based on age and experience - £10.50p/h to £13.00p/h -
holiday inclusive.

Using traditional methods, the finest
ingredients and embracing new technology, Rebellion Beer Company
has been passionately brewing award-winning beers in Marlow since
1993. The brewery continues to grow and has at its core the
principles of quality, consistency, and excellent customer service.
The successful candidate will be expected to uphold these
principles when going about their work.
Over the years Rebellion Beer has garnered and
grown a huge membership base and covers a wide area whilst
remaining true to its local roots. Our reputation for excellent
beer and customer service has been carried into out latest venture,
The Rebellion Tap Yard, where in addition, we now pride ourselves
on creating a warm, welcoming, and vibrant atmosphere to enjoy our
beer range.
The position will be in the brewery itself in
Marlow Bottom, Bucks.
The role is 5 days a week (40 hours). Sunday
the site is closed so this will be one of the two weekly days off.
The role also requires the working of our tour nights on the first
two Tuesdays of every month. These extended days can be taken as
TOIL or as pay. The job involves manual lifting and requires
physical movement in both indoor and outdoor settings. This
full-time role is suited to an individual that is looking to
advance their career in hospitality and gain hands on experience in
cellar, stock, and bar management as well as learning about real
ales at a supportive and welcoming local company. Weekly hours are
also excellent for the sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND
DUTIES
CORE
- Working with department manager to maintain
standards of service, cleanliness and quality.
- Running shifts and delegating tasks to
staff.
- Opening/closing site and cashing up.
- Flagging issues and potential issues.
- Understanding the qualities and differences
of beer range and reporting and troubleshooting problems.
DAY-TO-DAY
- Maintaining a friendly and welcoming
demeanour to all customers.
- Maintaining high levels of cleanliness and
organisation in the Tap Yard.
- Cellar management.
- Stock control and ordering.
- Liaising with other departments.
- Organising breaks for staff.
The Supervisor role is key to the successful
operation of the Tap Yard and will report to the Department
Manager. In terms of the wider company, the Tap Yard is showcase
for the brewery and our products. Therefore professionalism,
attention to detail and enthusiasm are key to ensuring that all
customers (and staff) have the best possible experience when
visiting and will want to return in the future. The staff, as well
as the beer and setting are pivotal to this.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Any qualifications or certifications in
applicable areas will be considered. These include things like Food
Hygiene courses or First Aid but are not essential.
- Experience in retail but especially
hospitality is preferred. Furthermore, any supervisory experience
will be considered an advantage.
- Barista skills useful but not essential.
