DB10 - White IPA Now Available in the Tap Yard

DB10 is the first of the development beers of the year.

 

White IPA

5.5%

Light, firm and refreshing

White IPA combines the characteristics of two quite different beer styles; the hop froward American IPA and the refreshing, spicy Belgian Witbier.

 

Hazy and golden with a dense white head, DB10 has a medium hop character and offers up flavours and aromas of stone fruit and citrus.

 

DB10 is available exclusively from our Tap Yard, please feel free to ask for a sample if you only want to try it.

 

A brief history of White IPA

The story of White IPA starts in 2010 with a collaboration between two US brewers, Oregon-based Deschutes Brewery, famous for punchy hop forward beers, and Boulevard Brewing from Missouri, producing wheat beers.

The two brewmasters got together and decided on a recipe that would combine their two expertise, just to see what would happen.

 

They both brewed the beer, and both were reported to be quite different but both ended up being very popular. This new beer style was then replicated by craft brewers worldwide who put their own unique tweaks on the recipe.

 

In 2015 the White IPA was included in the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP), making it an officially recognised beer style.
