DB14 - Sparkling Ale - Now Available

Sparkling Ale (DB14) is NOW AVAILABLE!
Available now on draught from the Tap yard and a limited stock
of takeaway 1 litre bottles from the shop and drive-through.
DB14 is our take on the Australian Sparking Ale. This is a 5.4%
well-balanced, pale and refreshing ale. It's bubbly but full of
smooth malt flavours balanced by herbal hops and a crisp
finish.
Look - Straw yellow in colour. Frothy, white head. Lots of
bubbling when poured due to the high carbonation.
Aroma - A relatively soft, clean aroma with a mix of hops, malt,
yeast and a touch of touch of banana.
Taste - Well-rounded and malty-sweet with a medium bitterness
balancing out the malt. Dry and crisp finish with a pleasant
lingering bitterness. Mild, herbal hop flavour, lasting into the
aftertaste.
Mouthfeel
Highly carbonated, giving mouth-filling bubbles and a crisp,
spritzy bite. Medium body, smooth but dry.
A More Sustainable Brew
We brewed DB14 with our carbon footprint in mind, trying to brew
in a more environmentally friendly way.
It's reported that approximately 30% of the carbon footprint
created by brewing a beer comes from the agricultural practices
used for the raw ingredients.
With that in mind, we used organic ingredients, including
organic Maris Otter, organic Merlin hops (UK grown) and low-carbon
Goldings hops (UK grown).
We took the opportunity to trial Brook House Hops new 'Low
Carbon Hops'. They have removed most of the drying process which
uses a lot of energy and they package the hops in an inert
environment to prevent them going stale. They were very 'fresh' in
appearance and aroma and have helped produce a delicious beer.
