Beer Samples.
Buying beer without trying it is a bit of a gamble. You can be
sure that our beer quality is fantastic, but if you've not tried a
beer before, will it be to your taste? So, to remove the risk we've
installed 6 taps in our brewery shop, and you can try before you
buy. Just ask a member of the shop team and they'll happily pour
100ml of any of our beers.
If the sample just gives you the taste and you'd like a full
size version, you can buy a pint or half from the shop or from the
brewery Tap Yard.
Why We Don't Offer Free Pints Anymore
Many years ago we started allowing customers the option of trying
beer for free within our shop. Tis became a central theme of the
shop and was increasingly popular. In the 12 months pre COVID-19 we
had become worried about the amount of beer we were giving away and
its impact on the profitability of the business. We were also aware
of the impact free sampling was having on our shop and its ability
to run effectively, as well as causing us severe car parking issues
on a regular basis.
When COVID hit we lost 80% of our entire business and this had a
significant ongoing effect on the businesses profitability. Even
when the pub trade re-opened we are still very nervous as to the
future and ongoing profitability of our sector. Because of the
above concerns, we reluctantly came to the decision that we could
no longer afford the free samples option. We appreciated that this
was a major change in policy but hoped that our customers would
understand.
